Former US soldier and aide worker Peter Kassig has been beheaded by ISIS. The US government confirmed his killing in a statement today after reviewing a video ISIS released that purported to show the beheading. The 26 year old Indianapolis man was captured in eastern Syria on Oct. 1, 2013, while delivering relief supplies for the aid group he founded.
This will make it the 5th foreigner ISIS has beheaded so far!

Their release was made known in a statement

Here's what supposedly caused the riot at Kirikiri Prisons today
There were reports earlier today that inmates
of Kirikiri Medium Prisons attempted a jail
break leading to the death & injury of many.
But according to new reports, it may not have
been a jail break
Now this is not confirmed but according to
someone who is involved in Prison Outreach
and was supposed to be at prison tomorrow,
he got a mail from the co-ordinator of the
outreach informing them that their visit has
been cancelled due to an incident at the prison
this afternoon. In the email that was sent out,
what happened at the prison was explained.

Please be advised that the Prison Outreach
for tomorrow at Kirikiri Prisons has been
cancelled.
Apparently, at the Kirikiri Medium Prison ,
the inmate GO bought himself a microphone
and a fan with his own money today and the
Deputy Controller of the prison did not
approve of it. The DCP ordered the GO to be
locked up in isolation. This infuriated the
inmates and demanded the release of the GO.
A mob of inmates started throwing stones at
the authorities. Hence, DCP ordered the
Prison Mobile Unit to shoot on sight. Shots
were fired sporadically into the inmates and
scores are dead. I was informed that the K-9
Unit was also dispatched into the inmate
population. The GO has been bitten several
times and in critical condition.
Please be praying for him and the entire
inmate population. Some of the ones who
died might not have had any contact with
family members since their incarceration.

Turkish action against IS in Syria 'unrealistic'
Turkey's foreign minister says it cannot be
expected to lead a ground operation
against Islamic State (IS) militants in Syria
on its own.
Mevlut Cavusoglu also called for the creation
of a no-fly zone over its border with Syria
after talks in Ankara with new Nato chief Jens
Stoltenberg.
Turkey is under intense pressure to do more to
help Kurdish forces fighting IS in the strategic
Syrian town of Kobane.
Activists say IS now controls about a third of
Kobane after fierce fighting.
Monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for
Human Rights, quoting "reliable sources", said
IS was advancing towards the centre of the
town from eastern districts.
Director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP news
agency that a Kurdish militia leader and several
of his men were killed when jihadists overran
their base in the north-east of the town.
The observatory said 42 IS fighters died in
Kobane on Wednesday, including 23 in US-led
coalition air strikes. Kurdish forces lost 15
fighters, the group said.
Air strikes continued overnight and into
Thursday morning. Plumes of smoke could be
seen rising over the town, also known as Ayn
al-Arab.
Earlier, a Kurdish leader in Kobane said IS had
entered two more districts overnight, bringing
in heavy weapons.
Turkey has stationed tanks along its border
overlooking the town, but has made no move
to intervene.
Mr Cavusoglu was holding talks with Mr
Stoltenberg and US envoys on possible Turkish
action against IS.
"It is not realistic to expect Turkey to conduct
a ground operation on its own," he told a news
conference.
"We are holding talks. Once there is a common
decision, Turkey will not hold back from
playing its part."
Turkey clashes
The US is leading an international coalition
against IS after the group seized swathes of
territory in Syria and Iraq, which both share a
border with Turkey.
Turkey remains wary of getting involved, partly
because it is concerned about arming the
Kurdish forces who are fighting the militants.
Turkey has fought a long civil war with its
Kurdish minority.
Pro-Kurdish protesters demanding Turkish
intervention have clashed with police in several
cities over recent days, leaving at least 12
people dead.
There was further fighting in Istanbul on
Wednesday night with protesters hurling petrol
bombs at police, who responded with water
cannon and tear gas.
However, the government did win
parliamentary authorisation for possible
military action last week.
The motion provides a legal framework for the
Turkish military to launch incursions into Syria
and Iraq against militants who threaten Turkey.
It also allows for foreign troops to be
stationed in Turkey as part of the same
campaign.Turkey - a Nato member - wants the creation
of a border zone or safe haven enforced by a
no-fly zone along the Syrian side of its border
to stop militants moving across and to ease the
influx of refugees into Turkey.
France supports the idea but the White House
has said it is "not something that is under
consideration right now".
Mr Stoltenberg, speaking in Ankara, said the
setting up of a no-fly zone or buffer zone
inside Syria has not been discussed by Nato.
The US Central Command said late on
Wednesday that eight coalition air strikes had
hit targets in Kobane. It said five IS armed
vehicles, an IS supply depot and other
buildings had been destroyed.
But Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm John Kirby
warned that "air strikes alone are not going to
save the town of Kobane. We know that and
we've been saying that over and over again".
He said that ultimately rebel fighters in Syria
and Iraqi troops would have to defeat IS
militants, but it would take time.
Similar views were expressed by British Foreign
Secretary Philip Hammond.
As the battle for Kobane intensified, Asya
Abdullah, a co-leader of the Kurdish
Democratic Union Party (PYD)representing
Syrian Kurds in Kobane, said that on
Wednesday night IS entered two districts of
Kobane with heavy weapons, including tanks.
"Civilians may have died because there are
very intense clashes," she said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights
earlier said IS was bringing in reinforcements
from its stronghold in Raqqa province.

Over the weekend, Linda Ikeji was accused by
a number of people of constantly plagiarizing
and lifting articles from websites without
giving credit to original sources. As a result,
the blog was shut down yesterday.The action has since sparked lots of
controversies as many of her fans took to the
various social media pages to lament and
blame ‘witches’ and ‘haters’ for the tragedy.
Clearing the air on the misconception,
Google’s Manager for Communications and
Public Affairs, Anglo-Phone West Africa, Taiwo
Kolade-Ogunlade, in a chat with Punch
newspaper, explained why the blog was taken
down.
He said Google takes the issue of copyright
seriously, adding that the company belongs to
a group of Internet firms that abides by the
provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright
Act and other applicable copyright laws.
“To respect the rights of copyright holders,
Google clearly spells out how users of its
products and services can get permission to
use someone else’s intellectual property such
as text, songs, images and footages. Google is
no respecter of anybody when it comes to the
issues of copyright infringement.
“Google as an organisation takes issues of
copyright seriously and belongs to a group of
digital companies that respect copyrights.
“Copyright is a big deal and this is why you
can’t just go and pick up another person’s
intellectual property or content and lay claim
to its ownership.
“It is not a case of witch-hunting and has
nothing to do with Linda Ikeji’s personality or
anyone else because there is a process, and
irrespective of who you are in the world, that
process would apply to you.
“It has become imperative for online
entrepreneurs to respect the rights of
copyright holders noting that the Internet
community should be built on mutual trust
and general respect.
“Let’s respect other people’s rights and
intellectual property. Making money off other
people’s content without permission is wrong.
Although the Internet is inanimate, it is the
content on it that gives it life. These are the
issues.

Nigerians what Mujaheed Asari Dokubo, was
doing on the plane that illegally ferried US$9.3
million to South Africa, where Asari Dokubo,
another Nigerian and an Israeli were arrested,
according to a published report.In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday
by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, the party said since the federal
government has taken ownership of the funds
by saying the National Security Adviser (NSA)
issued the end-user certificate for the arms
purchase, it stands to reason that the same
government will know the involvement of all
those aboard the plane.
APC said the questions become pertinent
because even the NSA, who issued the end-
user agreement for the purchase, does not and
cannot purchase arms for any of the armed
services. The Service Chiefs have separate
budgets from the NSA for arms purchase:
“Under our Constitution, the NSA is an
adviser and has no executive powers to
deploy troops from any of the services or
purchase arms for them. That the arms
purported to be purchased from South
Africa were ordered from the office of
the NSA is nothing but a mere
fabrication, and raises serious questions
about the motive for the purchase.

whose behalf Asari Dokubo was
purchasing arms. This is very crucial

threatening that Nigeria will not know

threat a reality, since elections are due in

official censure, that President Jonathan must
be re-elected or Nigeria will not know peace

to tell Nigerians the identity of the two

into another country in violation of that

deals seriously, instead of dismissing the
concerns of Nigerians on the basis of some
rules as the House of Representatives has
glibly done.
The party commended the media for keeping
the story alive and for working hard to
unearth the identity of the Nigerians aboard
the ill-fated plane that illegally flew money
into another country in violation of that
country’s laws and all known tenets of
decency.
APC called on the media, in pursuance of its
constitutional role of a watchdog, not to relent
in exposing the circumstances surrounding the
cash-for-arms deals, which have seriously
embarrassed Nigeria in the comity of nations
and which have the potential to threaten
